Of course, there's no technical check that will stop you from switching a small business over to the premium features of Office 365 Home in Outlook.com, but that license agreement should frighten off most prudent business owners. As you can see above, I have added the TXT value in my DNS. It might take 1 minute to 24 hours for the TXT record to replicate to all public DNS servers on the Internet. So wait for about at least 5 minutes before clicking next button. Click Verifyon Office 365 domain verification page.

Enter the name of the domain you want to add, then clickNext.

Copy the TXT record information provided on the Verify domain page. In the Settings dialog box shown above, click Premium and then click Get Started . You will now see that the domain has been added to Office 365 successfully. Choose how you want to make the DNS changes required for Office to use your domain. Choose how you want to verify that you own the domain.

Before you can set up a domain in the Office 365 portal, you must create your Office 365 tenant with Rackspace and add the product licenses that you need. This dialog box takes you to GoDaddy, which is the only supported domain registrar for Office 365 consumer accounts. Here you can select the services you want to be configured now. I will not select any services for now. Click Next. The setup will now finish.

By contrast, Google Domains charges a flat $12 for a .com domain, with privacy protection as a no-cost option. Likewise, Namecheap charges $13 for a .com domain and promises that its WhoisGuard privacy protection service is "free forever." You have to pay an annual fee to register and manage the domain, but there are no extra charges as long as your Office 365 subscription is active. Choose Add the DNS records for me if you want Office to configure your DNS automatically. After the TXT record fully propagates, select Verify. Add the TXT record by using the information provided on the Verify domain page.

Make sure you own the domain name and have access to domain hosting account’s control panel, otherwise you can’t add the domain name. You will be stuck at verification page. In this post, I will show steps to add domain name in Office 365 using Office365 portal.
